Do you offer vegetarian and vegan dishes?
Yes. Our evolving menu always features at least one vegetarian dish. We happily accommodate dietary needs.
Where did the name “Culinary Tavern” come from?
In an effort to have our name fully describe who we are, we riffed on the British term “gastropub.” Gastro comes from the word gastronomic, which refers to the preparation of great food. Pub, of course comes from “public house”, the term for a drinking establishment open to the public. As both a bar and dining destination, “Culinary Tavern” fit Firestone’s. The Culinary Tavern is our own Frederick translation of a gastropub.
Is the full menu available from the bar?
Yes. You may eat in either the bar or dining area.
Are reservations necessary?
Reservations can be made directly through our website homepage and opentable.com You may also reserve a table by phone.
Does the restaurant host private parties?
We have a semi-private area of our dining room that accommodates up to ten people. We are happy to provide the setting for your special event.
How many people does Firestone’s seat?
Our dining room seats 48 people, the bar seats 22 and the lounge area accomodates between 20 and 35 patrons.
Where should customers park?
Street parking is available in Frederick without meter fees, after five o’clock p.m. The Church Street Parking Garage is located at our closest cross street and is within walking distance of the restaurant.
Do you charge a corkage fee?
We are happy to offer wine service for bottles not represented on our wine list. The charge is a $20 fee per 750ml bottle, one bottle per every 2 guests.
Are Firestone’s Gift Certificates available?
Absolutely! They can be purchased through the Bar Staff or one can be mailed directly to you. Call the restaurant during regular business hours for details.
