Firestone's Culinary Tavern, Sidecar, and Market on Market

Gillian started with the Firestone’s organization as a 16-year-old food runner in the Culinary Tavern.  She left at points to attend school and pursue other potential careers, but always retained the love of food, drink and community that defined Firestone’s.   When the Market on Market was conceived, she jumped at the opportunity to create the market of her vision, and has steadily built up the operation, in every sense of the word. Shelves were gradually filled, wine and beer were added as well as a menu of casual fare, and the Market has grown to be a solid part of the downtown Frederick scene.

Gill has also recruited a crew that reflects her style of cheerful, efficient service. Customers are met with a smile, and treated as friends.

She and her husband Nick, a middle school teacher, live in Frederick with their 3 kids.
